I try to work in photographic projects, and as you browse across this website, you will see a project based presentation of images. But sometimes, I find singular images that stop me in my tracks and capture my attention. They are usually smaller scenes, rather than grand landscapes - visual observations if you will. I didn't want to let these images pass by or go unshared and so I started collecting them in this simple gallery of random… visual… observations.

Spring Bursts Forth!

Every year in late March or early April, a riot of color blooms on a farm near Lenhartsville, PA. I have driven past this farm hundreds of times and always loved to see the explosion of color from a field full of daffodils. Finally, one day I decided to capture some of that color to help me remember the feeling I get when I drive by.

Never Ending Rain

I made this image the morning after we attended a concert with good friends.  It was an outdoor concert.  It rained.  It seemed like a good idea when we first heard about it... go see a concert in Hershey, have a nice dinner, stay at the Hershey Hotel and enjoy the company of our friends.  But... it rained.  All day, and all night.  We wore all the rain gear we had, sat on cold metal bleachers, and got wet.  But we still enjoyed the company of our friends!

As I walked around the grounds of the hotel the next morning, everything was soggy (including me).  I saw the raindrops clinging to the leaves of this tree and it seemed to summarize both the day we had and the spring we are having.
