Closer To Home
My last eight blog post images were from beautiful, extraordinary locations... South Africa, the California desert, the Eastern Sierras, and Joshua Tree National Park. I love traveling to these places and exploring them with my camera. And I hope to never stop visiting extraordinary locations like these.
While the photographs from these places can be nice, I find more challenge and more meaning in a beautiful image of the everyday locations that are closer to home. These are the ordinary places we see every day. But they can take on extraordinary beauty... If we take the time to observe what is literally right in front of our eyes.
The Pinelands of NJ are about an hour away from me and I hadn't been there for awhile... it seems I am busier now in retirement than when I was working! So, it was time to go back for a visit. I spent the afternoon wandering around... but with just a few minutes before the sun went down, I ran from the car to a small bridge over this wetland and recorded an extraordinary image of light and reflection in a reasonably ordinary place.
