These photographs were made during a trip to Canyonlands and Arches National Park in November 2010.  Canyonlands is made up of three separate regions - The Needles, Islands in the Sky, and The Maze.  Hardly anyone goes to The Maze since it is one of the most remote regions in the US.  And while we like to think of ourselves as experienced hikers, we didn't tempt fate in The Maze either.  We had some of the most enjoyable desert hikes ever on this trip.  We had long eight to ten mile hikes with stunning scenery and the red and orange color palette we expected to see in the desert.
